Balancing Performance and Human Autonomy With Implicit Guidance Agent

چکیده
The human-agent team, which is a problem in humans and autonomous agents collaborate to achieve one task, typical human-AI collaboration. For effective collaboration, want have an plan, but realistic situations, they might difficulty calculating the best plan due cognitive limitations. In this case, guidance from agent that has many computational resources may be useful. However, if guides human behavior explicitly, feel lost autonomy are being controlled by agent. We therefore investigated implicit offered means of agent’s behavior. With type guidance, acts way makes it easy for find collaborative can then improve plan. Since improves their voluntarily, he or she maintains autonomy. modeled with integrating Bayesian Theory Mind into existing collaborative-planning algorithms demonstrated through behavioral experiment enabling maintain balance between improving plans retaining

Adjustable Autonomy and Human-Agent
We give a preliminary perspective on the basic principles and pitfalls of adjustable autonomy and humancentered teamwork. We then summarize the interim results of our study on the problem of work practice modeling and human-agent collaboration in space applications, the development of a broad model of human-agent teamwork grounded in practice, and the integration of the Brahms, KAoS, and NOMADS...
متن کاملBalancing Organizational Regulation and Agent Autonomy: An MDE-Based Approach
The deployment of agent societies —as complex systems— in dynamic and unpredictable settings brings forth critical issues concerning their design. Organizational models have been advocated to specify open systems in dynamic environments in order to accomplish the need to represent regulating structures explicitly and independently from acting components (or agents). Despite several frameworks h...
متن کاملAutonomy and Agent Deliberation
An important aspect of agent autonomy is the decision making capability of the agents. We discuss several issues that agents need to deliberate about in order to decide which action to perform. We assume that there is no unique (rational or universal) deliberation process and that the deliberation process can be specified in various ways. The deliberation process is investigated from two perspe...
متن کاملAgent-Based Support for Balancing teleoperation and Autonomy in Urban Search and Rescue
Today’s artificial intelligence technology is insufficient to support autonomous task performance in complex domains such as urban search and rescue, forcing human teleoperation of robots to be extensively relied upon. This, however, also has problems: humans quickly suffer from cognitive overload, and have difficulties in constructing a representation of the space around a remotely-placed robo...
متن کاملAn Agent-Based Approach to Balancing Teleoperation and Autonomy for Robotic Search and Rescue
In highly complex domains such as disaster rescue, today’s mobile robots simply do not have the ability to perform successfully on their own. Human teleoperation is strongly relied upon, but this also has problems: humans suffer from cognitive overload and have difficulties in constructing a representation of the space around a robot given information from its senses. In this paper we describe ...
